My brother,
Once again welcome to the family!! Appreciate having you here, and your mighty fine bending of the strings!! Have a great day!
I guess I could write all about my childhood growing up in Denmark, with a danish father and a russian mother, my japanese wife and two kids and the like … but it all comes down to this……The One Man Band idea was brought to life during a cold danish winter of 2005, where I became aware of the cigarbox guitar movement through an article in a danish railroad magazine. Years of frustrations toward other musicians and their never ending quest for acquiring the most expensive instruments, soundgear and so on ended right there. I could go anywhere I wanted, and I wanted to make a time trip back to prewar mississippi country blues, and blues the James Elmore style - raw, rugged, unpolished and alone. And although I never ever played guitar before – let alone owned one (apart from my yellow 6 stringed lapsteel). I built myself two 3 stringed diddley bow guitars wich I named after the boxes for their body ”Clementine” (made out of a box of clementines wich me and my kids had eaten that christmas, and is played lapstyle), and ”Wine” (made out of a giftbox wich contained two nice bottles of red wine, wich I play ”spanish” style), I chopped off the necks of the winebottles and that’s how I got two perfect glass slides to play with, added foot drums and electric 5 string fiddle – and what do you know – Now I suddenly had my very own band.
